Petition to save Google Analytics historical data

We urge the Google Board to intervene and convince CEO Sundar Pichai to halt the scheduled deletion of 19 years of Google Analytics data on July 1st, 2024. This data is important for millions of users and businesses, and its removal can impact advertisers, who contribute to 77% of Google's revenue

Despite widespread criticism of the new version, GA4 (check the comments in any social media post from Google Analytics in the last two years), Google has not provided a simple way to export the historical data from Universal Analytics before its deletion.

We suggest extending the data retention period and providing an easy-to-use tool for exporting historical data. This decision should be reconsidered for the benefit of the entire digital marketing community and to maintain trust in Google's services.

André Mafei, a Google Analytics user since 2006.
